OSHA To Investigate Monday Morning Construction Accident
North Kingstown Fire Department helped with the rescue. The victim was reported in stable condition. The accident happened about 10:36 a.m.

COVENTRY, RI — Police said a man was buried under a house foundation at a home development site on Monday. Complicating the rescue, a piece of heavy equipment, an excavator, was on a slope and hanging over the accident site. Western Coventry, Hopkins Hill and Anthony Fire Districts, the public works department, and North Kingstown's special hazards engine responded. The authorities made the decision to call for another excavator from the nearby Route 102/ Route 117 Rotary project to help deal with the unstable equipment. Ultimately, the patient went by Life Star medical helicopter to Rhode Island Hospital. Little information was available about his condition, except to say his lower legs were injured and he was reported in stable condition when he arrived at the hospital.
