Police: Coventry Man Had 2lbs of MDMA, 1,830 Ecstasy Pills, Assault Rifles

Police said Justin Graham, of Hill Farm Road, was arrested after a High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force raid on Wednesday.

A 27-year-old Coventry man and convicted felon was sitting on two pounds of unprocessed MDMA and 1,830 Ecstasy pills in addition to possessing an AK-47 and a pair of AR-15 assault rifles at his house at 1205 Hill Farm Road -- until a Wednesday afternoon road by members of the state police’s High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force, police said.

Justin Graham is now in federal custody and facing charges of possession with intent to distribute a Schedule I controlled substance and conspiracy after being ordered detained by U.S. District Court Magistrate Judge Patricia A. Sullivan following his initial appearance in federal court.

Col. Steven G. O’Donnell, superintendent of the Rhode Island State Police, said that the task force raided Graham’s house at around 3:30 p.m. after obtaining a search warrant.

Police did not release any details about the investigation, but O’Donnell commended detectives for their “diligent work in taking this type of firepower off the street.”

“It is of note that these are the type of weapons that law enforcement faces,” he said.

Graham was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and conspiracy to violate the controlled substances act in 2013 by Providence Police.

In a plea exchange, the possession charge was dismissed and Graham pleaded no contest to the conspiracy charge. A five year sentence was deferred at sentencing.
