Providence Ranked Worst Big City in U.S. for Those with Disabilities
Rhode Island lawmakers have recently worked to improve conditions for those with disabilities, however.
Providence is the worst large city in America for people with disabilities, according to a new report.
The personal finance network WalletHub ranked the 150 most populous cities in the country in its “Best and Worst Cities for People with Disabilities” list. Providence came in last. Boston was ranked No. 85. Overland Park in Kansas was ranked No. 1.
The list was based on health care costs, unemployment rates for those with disabilities, and access to parks, among other factors. Providence performed poorly in areas like quality of life and health care accessibility, according to WalletHub.
