Rainy, Sloppy Commute Likely on Monday

Most of the state won't see any snow until later tonight. Not much accumulation is expected.

Temperatures will climb above freezing on Monday but cold roads and a sloppy, wintry mix of precipitation today could make travel a slippery concern, according to the National Weather Service.

Rain is forecast for the entire state, beginning sometime this morning, most likely after 9 a.m.

Most of the state won’t see much snow, if any, but the ground is cold and some areas north and west of Providence could see some freezing rain or icing.

Later tonight, the National Weather Service is forecasting more precipitation and as temperatures fall, the rain could turn to snow and sleet.

The overnight temperature is expected to drop to about 19 degrees.

Sunny skies return Tuesday but it will be a bit colder again with a high of 26.
