Rep. Nardolillo Calls for Investigation into Planned Parenthood

"I firmly believe that we have a responsibility to conduct a full-fledged, objective investigation into Planned Parenthood of Rhode Island."

The following is a news release:

“I am disturbed by the silence of our Governor. We do not have to deliberately seek out national media coverage to know that there have been persistent and unabashed descriptions of the findings of a multi-year undercover investigation into various Planned Parenthood affiliates – the coverage has been everywhere,” said Representative Bobby Nardolillo.

“‘Revealing the Barbarity of a Nation’ was printed on the commentary page of the August 12 edition of the Providence Journal. The conversation has come home to roost in our own statewide paper. Yet, we have heard nothing from Governor Raimondo on where she stands as the Chief Executive of our state – we do not know if she intends to call for an investigation into Planned Parenthood in Rhode Island.”

Representative Nardolillo continued, “Many of my constituents have spoken loudly and clearly. They want to know if an investigation will be launched into what affiliations or business relationships Planned Parenthood may have with research facilities or universities that use organs of the unborn, as do I.”

“I firmly believe that we have a responsibility to conduct a full-fledged, objective investigation into Planned Parenthood of Rhode Island. Taxpayers’ money provides funding to this organization – and regardless if one is pro-choice or pro-life – all Rhode Islanders should absolutely know if they are engaged in harvesting body parts of the unborn.”

“I am calling on Governor Gina Raimondo to launch such an investigation immediately. I believe that there are many Rhode Islanders across the state and the political spectrum that would agree with my position and together we look forward to a forthcoming announcement from the Governor’s office.”
