Rhode Island City Ranked Worst Place to Retire in the Country
Providence came in dead last on a "Best and Worst Places to Retire" list.
Rhode Islandβs capital is the worst place to retire in the country, according to a new report.
The personal finance service WalletHub ranked 150 of the largest cities in the country in its βBest and Worst Places to Retireβ list. Providence came in dead last. Tampa, Fla. was No. 1.
Other New England cities like Worcester and Boston also ranked near the bottom of the list.

The report found Providence lacks affordability, recreation opportunities, and a strong health care system. Alsoβof courseβthereβs the harsh winter.
The report said about a quarter of Americans canβt afford to retire when they want to, due in part to the Great Recession.
