Rhode Island is known for a variety of the signature fall pastimes from apple picking to haunted houses and so much more. We at Patch have you covered on figuring out some of the best family activities this season.

Apple Picking

If you're the type that likes Halloween or a good jump scare, Rhode Island has plenty of haunted houses to help you get in the Halloween spirit. Locations and business hours are listed below:

  • Haunted Labyrinth: 804 Dyer Avenue, Cranston - Starting Sept. 28 Fri-Sun 7 p.m.-10 p.m.
  • 13th World: 4097 Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland - Starting Sept. 29 Fri-Sun except for Sept. 30 6:30 p.m.-10 p.m.
  • Factory of Fear: 3 Bridal Avenue, West Warwick - Starts October 5 and ends Halloween. Open select dates and times listed here.
  • Fortress of Nightmares: 90 Fort Adams Drive, Newport - Weekends start Oct. 13 and ending Oct. 28 7 p.m.-10 p.m.

Pumpkin Patches

Pumpkin pie, pumpkin bread, jack-o-lanterns and pumpkin spice lattes. Well for the latte you'll probably just go to your local coffee shop, but for the rest, check out these pumpkin patches to pick out the perfect pumpkin. Address and other activities listed below:

  • Morris Farm: 2779 Warwick Avenue, Warwick - Walking tours of farm, tractor trailer rides, cows, chickens and more.
  • Frerichs Farms: 43 Kinnicutt Avenue, Warren - Pumpkin weigh-offs, make-your own scarecrow. The weigh off festival is Oct. 6. Pumpkin check in is at 9 a.m. while the weigh-in starts at 11:30 a.m. Live music and food trucks as well.
  • Hill Orchard: 86 Windsor Avenue, Johnston - Apple picking and hayrides as well
  • Escobar Farm Corn Maze: 255 Middle Road, Portsmouth - Corn maze, tractor-pulled hay rides, and more. Events on select dates here.
  • Peckham Farm: 1299 Apping Road, Middletown - Other produce and gift shop as well
  • Patchet Brook Tree Farm: 4484 Main Road, Tiverton - Hayrides and campfire parties, also school field trips.
