Search Resumed for Missing Sterling Teen

Connecticut State Police said the K-9 dogs are returning to the woods to look for Todd Allen, 18.

COVENTRY, RI—Connecticut state police said the detectives are continuing the search for Todd Allen, the missing teen not seen since Dec. 26 when he rode out on his dirt bike.

"Troopers and state police detectives continue to investigate," Trooper Kelly Grant said. Search and Rescue Services dogs are back on the trail. "SARS K9’s are returning today."

According to Dennis Schain, communications director for Connecticut's environmental police, "DEEP Environmental Conservation Police are searching in the Sterling area today."

State Police said Allen left his home at 42 Dixon Road in Sterling, Conn., at approximately 1 p.m. on Dec. 26. He rode out on his red Honda XR100 dirt bike in an unknown direction of travel. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a camouflage sweatshirt and a back pack.

He did send his girl friend a message saying he had crashed his bike and hurt his leg, but state police said their efforts to use his cell phone to find him failed because the phone is either turned off or the battery has been drained.

"Allen is described as a white male, approximately 5’ 10”, 130 lbs, with brown hair and blue eyes," police said. "He frequents the Rails to Trails bike path that goes from Sterling into Coventry, as well as the area of Ross Pond.
