Second Arrest Made in Murder of Sterling Teen
Connecticut state police charged a Sterling man with tampering with evidence, interfering with a police officer and hindering prosecution.

STERLING, CT — Connecticut state police have charged a second suspect in connection with the murder of Todd Allen, the Sterling teen who went missing Dec. 26. His remains were found on Jan. 13 after murder suspect Kevin Weismore, 19, of Sterling, led police to the spot where he allegedly hid the body.
Weismore was charged on Jan. 13 with murder and tampering with evidence. According to Trooper Kelly Grant, he is being held on a million dollars bail.
Now, Dustin Warren, also of Sterling, is charged with tampering with evidence, hindering prosecution and interfering with a police officer.

Warren is mentioned a few times in the statement Weismore made to police. Allen, Warren and some other friends were at a party a few days before Christmas, Weismore said. He said Allen, whom he knew from high school, was a drug dealer, and at the party, Weismore had agreed to sell him marijuana for $500.

Weismore said he usually sold only small amounts, but he ran into his cousin's drug dealer in Woonsocket and was able to obtain a larger than usual amount. He and Allen communicated over Facebook Messenger and then agreed to do the deal in the woods across the street from Weismore's house. His mother was home, Weismore said, so they had to do the deal outside.
According to Weismore, they made a plan to meet on Dec. 26 in the woods near Weismore's house. He arrived first. But after he showed Allen the marijuana, Weismore said, the deal went bad. Allen turned and took a gun from his backpack.
Weismore said he hit Allen in the hand holding the gun and also took a folding knife out of his pocket. The silver knife had a three to four inch single edge blade.
"I knifed TJ," he wrote in his statement. He struck first in the stomach and then in the neck "a few times." Allen kept moving, so he stabbed him again.
"TJ fell to the ground," he wrote. "He kept trying to get back up, but he fell again because he died. TJ was breathing and gurgling and there were sounds coming out of him. TJ stopped making any sounds, and I am pretty sure that he stopped breathing."
Weismore dragged his body about 10 feet and hid it behind a pile of rocks, so passing cars would not see. Then he took the gun and walked to the highway connecting I-395 to Route 6 in Rhode Island. He tossed the gun off a cliff overlooking the highway.
Then he went back to the body and confirmed Allen was dead. He took Allen's helmet and backpack and threw them down the well. Then he burned his own clothes, went home and watched tv.
The next day, Weismore said he told Warren and another friend what happened. They went back to the body and later took Allen's dirt bike to a pond in Killingly, where they submerged it.
Allen's parents said they don't believe their son ever had a gun. His father Todd Allen said he and his son were growing marijuana and selling it. They ran out of product at the end of the summer, but the teen continued dealing.
His body was recovered with multiple stab wounds, police said.
