Son & Friends Continue Search for Patti Pendleton

According to her son's Facebook page, the volunteers will go out again on Sunday, Dec. 4 and try to find the 59-year-old Coventry woman.

COVENTRY, RI—Although police called off the search for missing hiker Patti Pendleton, a small army of volunteers returned to the Arcadia Management Area on Saturday to find her.

They will be back again on Sunday, according to the post on her son's Facebook page. Day 6 of the search starts at 8 a.m. at the hunter check station off Route 165.

Volunteers are asked to wear orange vests and hats, due to the danger from shotgun hunters. They're also asked to bring water and wear warm clothes and good boots.

Pendleton was last heard from on Monday. Her family reported her missing on Tuesday when she failed to show up for her job.

She was thought to have been hiking in the Arcadia Management Area in Exeter, near the Connecticut border. Coventry police urged people not to go into the woods and continue looking for Pendleton, but some 50 people showed up yesterday, according to the posts.
