Strong Storms Coming Overnight into Wednesday
The storms will coincide with an astronomical high tide Wednesday morning, which could cause coastal flooding.

The National Weather Service is forecasting potentially hazardous weather Tuesday night into Wednesday as a cold front is expected to bring heavy rain and winds.
The weather will affect the morning commute and coastal flooding is possible as the storm will match up with a high tide at around 8:20 a.m.
Surges of a half-foot to a foot is possible.

Heavy rains and strong winds will be the strongest threat to all of Rhode Island, particularly overnight, according to a hazardous weather outlook issued by the NWS. THere is also a chance for an isolated tornado or even small hail.
During the worst of the storm, there could be damaging straight-line winds, torrential downpours and lightning.
