Suspect in Coventry Burglaries Arrested

Police said they found Joshua Fleming in a West Warwick pawn shop with jewelry in his possession.

COVENTRY, RI —Police have arrested Joshua Fleming, 36, of Coventry. Fleming is a suspect in a number of burglaries, according to Col. John MacDonald, Coventry police chief.

Fleming had been under surveillance when a Jefferson Drive resident reported someone had broken into the house, and several pieces of jewelry were missing.

Det. Graham MacCoy suspected Fleming was involved. Fleming was arrested in a West Warwick pawn shop with assistance from West Warwick police.

He was allegedly found with the stolen jewels in his hands. He was later arraigned at the Kent County Courthouse on breaking and entering charges.

He is believed to have stolen jewelry and other items from several houses since September, police say.
