Updated: Police Identify Teen Killed In Hit-and-Run On Arnold Road
The youngster was hit by a truck with a snowplow attached, police have confirmed.

COVENTRY, RI —A teen was struck and killed by a vehicle on Arnold Road shortly after midnight Monday, Feb. 12. Matthew O’Gara, 19, of Coventry, died at Kent County Hospital.
Coventry police said O'Gara was a pedestrian and was hit by a vehicle traveling northbound. The driver did not stop. The vehicle is described as a "dark-colored pickup truck with an attached plow."
Investigators were able to rule out marked Town of Coventry or marked RIDOT trucks as being involved in the accident.

"Police do have surveillance images of the truck involved, and both police and the family of the victim are urging the driver of the truck to immediately come forward," according to the department's press release. Meanwhile, officers are asking any individual with information regarding any plow truck being operated on Arnold Road from 12:15 a.m. to 12:20 a.m. to contact the Coventry Police Department at (401) 826-1100 and ask for a desk supervisor.
The police also are asking Arnold Avenue residents and businesses to notify them if they have surveillance cameras.

Police were called to the scene for a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle near 330 Arnold Road.
The Central Coventry Fire District also responded. The chief said they started life-saving measures at the scene.
