Teenage Subway Employees Ignore Robber Until He Leaves
Now, Coventry police want to ID the suspect and an alleged accomplice.
It’s not what you’re supposed to do when a man with a plastic bag on his face walks into the Subway sandwich shop you work at and demands money, but it worked for two teen employees in Coventry, RI, on Monday.
They ignored him.
The man became agitated and walked out, and now Coventry police are asking the public to help them identify him.

They’re also trying to identify an alleged accomplice who was seen about 30 minutes earlier at a West Greenwich liquor store.
Police said the man tried to rob the Subway at 2405 Nooseneck Hill Road on July 27. The employees didn’t respond to the man’s request for money and “the suspect became agitated and mumbled something under his breath as he walked out of the business,” police said.

The man appeared to be in his mid 40s to mid 50s and was wearing a white T-shirt on top of his head and a tan plastic shopping bag tied around his face.
The accomplice is described as a heavyset man in his mid 20s with a brown beard.
Both men were in a four door sedan.
If you can help police ID either of the two men call Det. Michael Pacheco of Coventry Police at 401-822-6341.
