Thousands Still Without Power in Coventry

The sporadic outages are spread throughout the town. More than 42,000 across the state still in the dark.

More than 2,000 people in Coventry remain in the dark after Tuesday morning’s severe thunderstorm, according to National Grid’s Power Outage Map.

The outages are sporadic, spread across the town. The largest group is along Victory Highway, followed by pockets on Town Farm Road, Nooseneck Hill Road and around Tiogue Lake, among others.

National Grid is “assessing the situation” in most cases, with no listed estimate of restoring power, though some estimate the lights will be back on around 12:20 p.m. Around the state, more than 42,000 people are still without power, National Grid reports.
