Three Charged after Fight that Injured Officer

The three men were involved in a fight on Magnolia Lane on Saturday.

Three men have been charged in connection with a fight in Coventry that injured a police officer.

Police said Ramsey Shadeck, 22, of North Kingstown; Matthew LaRoche, 21, of Richmond and Demetrius Stewart, 26, of West Warwick, were arraigned over the weekend for the incident, which happened early Saturday morning on Magnolia Lane.

Police said the officer was struck by the side mirror of a car and suffered a minor injury as the three were trying to leave the scene of the fight.

Shadeck was charged with simple assault, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

LaRoche was charged with assault on a police officer, failing to stop at the scene of an accident involving personal injury, simple assault, disorderly conduct and driving with a suspended license.
