Unresponsive Toddler Pulled From Pool At Coventry Home

Police say the 2-year-old boy needed CPR after losing consciousness in an above ground pool at a home on Tero Drive in Coventry.

COVENTRY, RI — An unresponsive 2-year-old boy was pulled from a pool at a home in Coventry on Friday, according to Police Chief Rick Heise.

Around 7:20 p.m., emergency officials were called to a home on Tero Drive when a toddler became unconscious in an above ground swimming pool. Police said members of the Coventry Fire Department had to perform CPR on the boy, as well as other resuscitating efforts.

Police said the toddler was rushed to Kent County Hospital in Warwick and was in serious condition. The boy was later transferred to Hasbro's Children's Hospital in Providence for further treatment.
