Warwick Man Wins $500K On Lottery Ticket He Bought In Coventry

The winner said he'd like to share some of the prize with family, especially his brother, who has a baby on the way in the next few months.

WARWICK, RI — A $500,000 winning lottery ticket was sold at the Cumberland Farms on Nooseneck Road in Coventry, Rhode Island Lottery officials said Friday.

The Warwick man who hit the jackpot told lottery officials he was still in disbelief when he went to the lottery office in Cranston to claim his prize.

Lottery officials said the man purchased the last two "$500,000 Payout" instant tickets on display at Cumberland Farms on Thursday.

The winner said he’d like to share some of the money with family, especially his brother, whose birthday was Thursday and is expecting a baby in the next few months. He also said he will use the money for a new car and apartment, and will then invest the rest.
