Warwick Police Make Arrest In 2013 Park Homicide
Michael Soares of Pawtucket was taken into custody Tuesday and charged with first-degree murder.

WARWICK, R.I. -- Warwick Police arrested a Pawtucket man Tuesday evening in connection with the 2013 Warwick City Park murder. Michael Soares, 33, was taken into custody and charged with first-degree murder.
On May 17, 2013, John "Jack" Fay was killed while running in Warwick City Park. Fay's family and the Warwick Police have remained committed to finding his killer in the years since his death.
"In addition to the work of our agency, this arrest would not be possible without the assistance from various local, state and federal agencies, to include the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the RI Department of Health, and the RI Attorney General’s Office," read a release from the Warwick Police Department.

Because it is still an ongoing investigation, details on the arrest and investigation have not been released.
Soares will be held overnight in the Warwick Police Department and will be arraigned at the Third Division District Court at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.
