Fatal Coventry Hit-and-Run: Suspect Arrested

Coventry police have arrested a suspect believed to have killed a Coventry teen.

COVENTRY, RI — William Fallon, 34, of Coventry, has been arrested in connection with the fatal hit-and-run accident that killed a Coventry teen, Matthew O'Gara, early Monday.

Coventry police said they made the arrest Wednesday night.

"Fallon is accused of striking O’Gara with his vehicle and attached plow as O’Gara walked along Arnold Road in the early morning hours," police said.

He is being charged with Duty to Stop in Accidents Resulting in Death and will be arraigned this afternoon at Kent County District Court.

O'Gara, 19, was walking on Arnold Road with friends and was struck a few minutes after midnight, Monday, Feb. 12. He died at Kent County Hospital.

The Coventry Police Department thanked people for tips. They released surveillance video of a dark colored pick-up truck with an attached plow.
