COVENTRY, RI — Temperatures are heating up in Rhode Island, and with summer vacation in full swing Rhode Islanders need somewhere to kick back and cool off. Patch has the answer with a roundup of the best places to go swimming this summer.

Coventry two public beachfront swimming areas, Breezy Lake and Briar Point Beach.

Breezy Lake is located off Knotty Oak Road, down White Rock Road. The beach is open to the public.

Briar Point Beach is at the end of Briar Point Avenue, off of Arnold Road. The park is open from dawn until dusk, with lifeguards on duty from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. from June 22 through Labor Day. The site features a playground, picnic areas and restrooms, and dogs are allowed in the area but not on the beach. Nonresidents must pay a $10 entrance fee.
