Arizona Man Dies In Tractor-Trailer Crash On I-95 In Providence

State police said a tractor trailer struck a disabled vehicle, causing it to rollover, blocking the two right lanes of the highway.

PROVIDENCE, RI — One person is dead following a tractor-trailer crash on Route 95 North in Providence Friday morning, according to Rhode Island State Police.

Around 12:54 a.m., emergency officials were called to Interstate 95 northbound, just north of the Route 10 overpass in Providence.

State police said a tractor trailer struck a disabled vehicle in the fast lane, which then caused it to roll over, blocking the two right lanes of the highway. The truck driver was ejected and died from his injuries. State police identified the driver as Adrian Morales, 45, of Yuma, Arizona.

The driver of the disabled vehicle was taken to Rhode Island Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, state police said.

Route 95 was shut down for several hours and traffic was diverted onto Route 10 until the highway was cleared.
