PROVIDENCE, RI — The Rhode Island Department of Health reported 170 cases of coronavirus Friday and 23 deaths. To date, the state has had 13,736 cases of the virus and 579 deaths.
"These are good news numbers," Raimondo said, saying the state is in a good position to move towards phase two. "Not every state is where we are, and that's because of you. You followed the rules.
There are currently 242 people in the hospital. Of these, 56 are in an intensive care unit and 40 are on a ventilator.

So far, 30,000 people have downloaded the state's "Crush COVID" app, which brings together resources, updated information, testing, location diaries and more. The governor encouraged all Rhode Islanders to download the app over the weekend, setting a goal of 45,000 downloads by the end of the holiday weekend.
