2 Providence Men Win Big In Rhode Island Lottery

CRANSTON, RI — Temperatures are heating up this week, but that's not the only thing scorching. Providence players in the Rhode Island lottery have been just as hot.

The Evening Daily Number drawn on Thursday resulted in a Providence man winning $76,832. Lottery officials said he always plays the same numbers for his mother’s birthday (3 7 9 5) and this time purchased five $1 combination tickets at Bally’s Twin River Casino in Lincoln. He plans to put his winnings towards his business.

Another Providence man saw some good luck as well. He usually plays the $2 crossword instant game, but this time decided to splurge on the $10 "Mega Crossword" instant ticket at New Lanes on Hartford Avenue in Providence. He won $75,000 and plans to use the money towards retirement, bills, and investments.
