209 New Cases Of Coronavirus In RI; 6 Deaths
To date, Rhode Island has now had 13,356 coronavirus cases and 538 deaths.

PROVIDENCE, RI — The Rhode Island Department of Health reported 209 new cases of the coronavirus Wednesday and six additional deaths. To date, the state has now had 13,356 cases and 538 deaths.
Of the six deaths, two victims were in their 80s and four were in their 90s, said Dr. Nicole Alexander-Scott, the director of the department. All were residents of nursing homes or assisted living facilities.
The number of hospitalizations in Rhode Island continues to hold steady, slowly trending downward over past weeks. As of Wednesday, 257 people were in the hospital. Of them, 58 were in an intensive care unit and 45 were on ventilators. In total, 1,030 people have been discharged from the hospital.

The latest data shows that Central Falls continues to have the highest concentration of cases in the state. To date, 14 percent of the population has been tested, 26 percent of whom tested positive for COVID-19. Adjusted for population, the city has a rate of 3,446 cases per 100,000 people.
