3 Arrested In Cranston After Assault And Attempted Arson

Officials received a report April 27 of a Molotov cocktail being thrown from a moving vehicle at a van that was parked and occupied.

CRANSTON, RI — Three people have been arrested after being accused of an assault and attempted arson that occurred in April, the Cranston Police Department said in a Friday news release.

Officers said they responded overnight April 27 to the 200 block of Greenwood Street in Cranston after receiving a report of a Molotov cocktail being thrown from a moving vehicle at a van that was parked and occupied.

Police added that the driver followed the suspect vehicle to around Doric Avenue before calling the police. Officials found the suspect's vehicle the following day.

Investigators interviewed the victims before identifying the accused as Brianna Wischnowsky, age 20, of Warwick, RI, Drew Rappoport, age 19, of Coventry, RI, and a juvenile male. All three were arrested May 3 and charged with 5th-degree arson, felony assault with a dangerous weapon or substance, and conspiracy.
