CRANSTON, RI — Five people and one dog have been displaced after a fire that started in the basement of a Cranston home overnight Monday, according to multiple reports.

The fire was reported on Montgomery Avenue around 1:15 a.m. and is believed to have been caused by an electrical issue, ABC6 reported.

The State Fire Marshal is investigating, according to WJAR.
