In Ad, Cranston Firefighter Says Vote for Taveras is "Vote for Middle Class"
Cranston Firefighter Scott Robinson appeared in a political ad in support of gubernatorial candidate Angel Taveras.

Saying “Angel knows what it’s like to work for a living,” a Cranston firefighter has appeared in a political ad in support of Providence Mayor Angel Taveras’ run for Governor of Rhode Island.
“In the Democratic primary, we have a choice between some very different candidates,” Robinson said.
On one hand, there’s Taveras, Robinson said, whose first job was as a union cashier.

Then there’s Gina Raimondo, who Robinson said “doesn’t stand up for working people,” slashed pensions for firefighters and police and then “gave the money to her Wall Street friends.”
It’s no secret that many unions are backing Taveras in the September primary. Raimondo, who helped lead a push for changes to the state pension system, drew ire from many firefighters, police officers and other union members who say the changes were unilateral and unfair.
