All Baked Goods from DeFusco's Bakery Recalled
The state Department of Health issued an advisory today urging anyone who bought baked goods from DeFusco's Bakery in Cranston and Johnston and zeppoles at Crugnale Bakery be discarded due to unsafe handling practices.
The state Department of Health issued a recall of all baked goods from DeFusco's Bakery in Cranston and Johnston today because of unsafe handling practices.
In a release, the health department said an inspection of the Johnston store revealed pastry cream used in zeppoles and eclairs were stored at unsafe temperatures. Additionally, the health department said, there were "unsanitary conditions in the store."
Baked goods at the Johnston store are sold in both locations. Zeppoles were sold at al Crugnale Bakery locations.

The health department said the owner of DeFusco Bakery in Johnston has voluntarily closed until further notice.
Anyone who has eaten baked goods from DeFusco's Bakery or zeppoles from Crugnale's Bakery and has gotten sick should contact a doctor for evaluation, the health department advised.
