CRANSTON, RI — A Pawtucket man serving a 15-year prison sentence for first-degree sexual assault was charged with simple assault.
Oladapo Disu, 28, was arrested Wednesday by the Adult Correctional Institutions Investigations Unit, the Rhode Island State Police said in a media release.
The date of the offense was May 23, according to court records.
Disu pleaded guilty to first-degree sexual assault in January 2020. Charges of kidnapping, felony assault, alteration of firearm identification marks, using a firearm when committing a crime of violence and weapons other than firearms prohibited were dismissed.
"Mr. Disu was arraigned at Third Division District Court where he was granted $1,000 personal recognizance and remanded to the ACI," the release said.
Disu was scheduled to be released from the ACI in October 2033.
