Meth, Downers Seized And 2 Arrested During Cranston Traffic Stop: Cops (patch.com) β Cranston police say a Monday afternoon traffic stop on Broad Street led to the arrest of two wanted men and the seizure of methamphetamine and prescription pills. One suspect, a Cranston resident, faces an obstruction charge and was turned over to Woonsocket police, while the other faces multiple narcotics and domestic violence charges tied partly to a Cranston warrant.

2. Reitz-Kachberuni (johnstonsunrise.net) β A Cranston family is celebrating as Mimi Reitz, daughter of Charles and Megan Reitz of Cranston, marries Artur Kachberuni in a ceremony in Baurech, France. Mimi is pursuing graduate studies in Paris, while Artur manages Sonia's Market and Deli in Cranston, keeping a strong local tie even as the couple begins married life abroad.

Here's the results (newportri.com) β Cranston athletes were busy Tuesday, with Cranston East boys soccer shutting out North Providence and Cranston West volleyball sweeping South Kingstown. Mellor leads Skoly in early results for GOP CD2 nomination (providencejournal.com) β Early unofficial results show Vic Mellor leading Stephen Skoly in the Republican primary for Rhode Island's 2nd Congressional District, setting up a likely challenge to Democrat Seth Magaziner. Cranston residents may recognize Skoly as a local oral surgeon and recall former Cranston mayor Allan Fung's previous close race for this seat, which remains a key contest in a blue state.
