Today's riddle: What has a tail, but no body? 🤔 (Answer below!)
1. New Yorkers Charged With Stealing Used Cooking Oil From Cranston Restaurant: Cops (patch.com) — Cranston police say two men from New York were caught leaving PJ's Pub on Pontiac Avenue and are accused of siphoning about 100 gallons of used cooking oil from the restaurant's outdoor container. Investigators link their van to other area oil thefts and note that Cranston restaurants have faced similar overnight crimes, as thieves target the valuable oil for resale and biofuel production.
2. Cranston underpass floods again, trapping cars during heavy rain (turnto10.com) — Flooding at the Oaklawn Avenue underpass in Cranston again stranded cars Sunday, frustrating neighbors who say the problem has gone unfixed for years. Officials have added warning lights, but residents report they rarely work, and RIDOT now says it's pursuing a FEMA grant for a long-term drainage solution while the city has yet to publicly respond.
3. RI Lottery Powerball, Numbers Midday winning numbers for Sept. 14, 2026 (newportri.com) — Cranston players can now check the Sept. 14 Rhode Island Lottery results, including Powerball, Numbers, Wild Money, and Millionaire for Life. If you've won $600 or more, you'll need to visit Lottery Headquarters on Pontiac Avenue in Cranston, where staff can also walk you through options for large jackpots and lifetime-prize payouts.
4. Here are the scores, stats and more from Monday's RI high school games (providencejournal.com) — Cranston high school teams had a busy Monday, with Cranston East's boys soccer squad sealing a 4–2 win and both Cranston East and West appearing across soccer, tennis, and other results.
