Baskets and More in Cranston to Close at Month's End

"This has to be the hardest decision I had to make," said owner Isabel Lima-Lewis, who cited the difficulty competing against online stores.

One of Cranstonโ€™s best stores for gift baskets -- and more -- is closing at the end of the month.

Baskets and More, which was established in 1997, will be no more and come Feb. 28, the doors will close for good, said owner Isabel Lima-Lewis.

โ€œBecause of economic times, we are forced to make this decision,โ€ Lima-Lewis said in Facebook message to customers. โ€œ Technology is removing alot of small mom and pop stores [and] we canโ€™t compete with online business.โ€

โ€œWe want to thank every one of our loyal customers,โ€ she said, noting itโ€™s โ€œvery sad for us to have to close our doors.โ€

In the meantime, everything in the store is on sale with steep discounts. Everything is up for sale, including cabinets, tables and furniture.

โ€œWe need your help so please pass the news around so we can sell everything and start this next chapter of life,โ€ Lima-Lewis said.

The store is located at 753 Oaklawn Ave. in Cranston, and specialized in baby, fruit, goodie, gourmet, nut, vegetable and bridal and party baskets.

If you canโ€™t stop by, consider posting a message of well wishes on their Facebook page.
