Volunteers are welcome to join us for any amount of time — even an hour helps.Tasks include light cleanup, trimming, raking, and general site care. Help Prepare the Arboretum & Riverwalk for 9/11 Remembrance

<a href="https://www.btonefitness.com" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">btone FITNESS</a>&nbsp;is pleased to celebrate the official opening of its newest location in <a href="https://www.btonefitness.com/locations/cranston" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Cranston, Rhode Island</a> this weekend. Grand opening festivities will begin Friday, August 28th with a 9:30am ribbon cutting with Cranston city and elected officials, and donation-based classes throughout the weekend to benefit <a href="https://www.comcap.org/about-us/history/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Comprehensive Community Action Program (CCAP.)</a> The new 2,500 square-foot studio is the growing brand’s latest franchise to open and joins three other Rhode Island locations including those in Providence, East Greenwich and Newport. A new studio in Westerly, Rhode Island is expected to open later in the fall.
The Cranston studio, located at 1400 Oaklawn Avenue in Marshalls Plaza, is owned and operated by Cranston native, resident, and longtime btone devotee and instructor, Becca Richardson. She describes btone as “an upbeat, 45-minute, full-body workout that combines Pilates-inspired movements with resistance training. It’s highly effective, efficient, and customizable for all fitness levels and ages.”

The new studio will offer twelve reformer machines to ensure a highly personalized Pilates hybrid workout where clients will feel comfortable regardless of their fitness levels. Unlike other group exercise classes, btone specializes in 45-minute, total-body TONE workouts on these customized machines, allowing clients to tailor each and every move with spring resistance and body placement. Clients can easily and safely modify their workout based on their current fitness level and wellness goals.

Last year CCAP touched the lives of more than 40,000 Rhode Islanders.</li>

40th ANNUAL “3-Day” CRANSTON GREEK FESTIVAL SEPTEMBER 11th, 12th and 13th
Location: Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation on the parish grounds
175 Oaklawn Avenue, Route 5, Cranston, RI. 
The Cranston Greek Festival, marks the “Official End of Summer in Rhode Island™”.
The Festival is held under the “Big Tents”, rain or shine.
Admission is FREE.
2026 GREEK FESTIVAL TIMES:
 Friday, September 11 5 PM – 10 PM
 Saturday, September 12 12 Noon – 10 PM
 Sunday, September 13 12 Noon – 8 PM
 
Greek Food: 
Guests sample a wide variety of Greek food including roast lamb, Greek-style chicken, souvlaki (skewered pork or chicken), pastitsio (delectable “Greek Lasagna”), spanakopita (“spinach pie”) tiropita (“cheese pie”). 
 
Many of our guests tell us we serve Rhode Island’s Best GYROS. Come and judge for yourself! 
 
Our pastry booth offers hand-made Greek pastries prepared by teams of our own parishioners, including our famous Baklava, Galaktoboureko and Rice Pudding. 
 
The pastry selection also includes karidopita (Greek Walnut Cake), kourabiedes (Wedding Cookies), koulourakia (Greek Butter Cookies), and melomakarona (Honey Cookies). 
 
And don’t forget to try our Loukoumades!!! 
Loukoumádes (λουκουμάδες) is a staple of Greek eating, especially in the south of Greece, and is a popular street food served with a combination of honey, cinnamon, and walnuts.

Entertainment &amp; Culture:
Greek Dancing Performances by Odyssey Dance Troupe 
Friday Night – 7 PM

Sunday Afternoon – 3 PM &amp; 6 PM
These performances are wildly popular, and feature dances from mainland Greece and the Greek Islands. 
Live Greek musicwill be performed throughout the event. 
Spontaneous, impromptu Greek Dancing breaks out constantly during the entire 3-Day, Cranston Greek Festival.

Free Parking shuttle buses run continuously, from Cranston West High School VIA CURTIS STREET.Some handicapped parking is available on the church grounds.
