CNBLL 9-10 All Stars 2-0 in Regionals

The girls of the Cranston National Budlong Little League 9-10 softball All Stars are off to a smashing start at the Little League Eastern Regionals in Old Forge, Penn., with a 2-0 record.

So far, both opponents haven’t seven scored a hit against the Cranston all-stars, who now have secured a spot in the elimination tournament that begins on Thursday.

A win today (Monday) means the girls will be the Little League Softball 9-10 New England champions with a chance to win the Eastern championship.

On Saturday, the team beat Maine 10-0 in a 4-inning game that was cancelled due to the mercy rule.

Ava Brandow pitched a gem with 9 strikeouts. Emily Durigan hit a triple in the first inning and a double in the third inning. Delaney Doidge also hit a triple in a single.

On Sunday, the girls beat Vermont 15-3 in a game that was also called due to the mercy rule.

Sophia Ferry and Sophia Dipippo combined for the no-hit win, striking out a combined 9 batters. Sydney Casale hit a homer and a double, driving in 3 runs. Ferry hit a single and double as well as Durigan.

The team plays Monday against Connecticut to finish the pool-play portion of the tournament.
