Costco Likely Opening In Cranston In 2024: Report

CRANSTON, RI — Wholesale shoppers may soon have another option in Rhode Island, as the first Costco Wholesale in the state will likely open in Cranston, according to Mayor Ken Hopkins.

Hopkins on Monday told WPRI 12 he couldn't provide specifics, but said a contract with Costco has been signed. He also told the television station the store will not open until mid-2024 at the earliest.

Rhode Island is one of just four states in the U.S. without a Costco store. The closest locations to Rhode Island are in Avon, Massachusetts, and East Lyme, Connecticut.
