Cranston Celebrates its "Best and Brightest"

Every year, the city takes a moment to give a pat on the back to local high school seniors who demonstrated outstanding academic achievement during the course of their high school careers.

They're known as the city's Best and Brightest, and they gathered at City Hall Friday night to receive awards and congratulations for their hard work and accomplishments.

"Tonight we celebrate the hard work, dedication, and perseverance that have led to your being honored. These qualities will serve you well throughout your life," said Cranston Mayor Allan W. Fung.

"I wish you all the best as you move on to whatever the next step in your life’s journey may be.  I am confident that the strong foundations that you have will ensure your success.  The people of Cranston are proud to send you forward to face the challenges and experiences ahead, and we hope that you will always remember fondly your home town wherever your road leads you."
