Girl Hurt by Arrow Fired by Man Trying to Hit Pigeon
A 9-year-old Cranston girl was hurt by an arrow that ricocheted off the ground and struck her while walked on Bain Street Tuesday evening.

A 9-year-old Cranston girl was hurt by an arrow that ricocheted off the ground and struck her while she was walking a dog on Bain Street Tuesday afternoon.
And 27-year-old Daniel King of Cranston is now facing charges of criminal negligence (battery) for allegedly firing the arrow, which reportedly was meant for a pigeon in his driveway.
The girl’s mother reported the incident to police after she came home from the walk with a puncture wound in her back, according to a police report.

The girl was treated at Hasbro Children’s Hospital and a CAT scan showed there were no internal injuries.
Police said a search of King’s home turned up a 63-inch bow, a 36-inch bow and seven arrows, including a broken arrow that was swabbed for blood.

King was initially charged with felony assault with a dangerous weapon and ordered held as a probation violator.
King was on probation after pleading no contest to a domestic vandalism charge on July 14. He was sentenced to one year at the Adult Correctional Institutions in Cranston, suspended, and one year of probation.
He was released on personal recognizance on Wednesday after his initial appearance in Third Division District Court.
He is due to return to court on Oct. 29 for a pre-arraignment disposition conference in Sixth Division District Court.
