Cranston Man Charged with Child Porn Possession, Transfer
Police said they found child pornography on digital media owned by 21-year-old Russell Mallett of Cranston.
A 31-year-old Cranston man has been charged with possessing and transferring child pornography.
The Rhode Island State Police said Russell Mallett, 31, of 575 Dyer Ave., Cranston, was arrested Monday morning after an investigation by members of the Rhode Island State Police and the Rhode Island Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
Police said ICAC task force members began their investigation into a person trading images and videos of child pornography on the Internet and traced the connection to Russell’s Dyer Avenue address.

Child porn was found on digital media within Mallett’s apartment after Monday’s raid.
Mallett is due to be arraigned in Third Division District Court later this morning.

Police said there is no indication of any inappropriate contact between Mallett and any children.
