Cranston Man Charged with Robbing Central Falls CVS

Police said he told the store clerk he had a gun.

A 41-year-old Cranston man is facing charges of second degree robbery after allegedly demanding money from a cashier at a Central Falls CVS on Tuesday.

Police said Robert Pernini was stopped by a Pawtucket police officer shortly after the incident, which occurred at around 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the CVS at 309 Broad St..

Pernini allegedly told the clerk he had a gun and demanded all the money in the cash register.

Once in police custody, detectives obtained security camera footage from the store to confirm his identity. He was then placed under arrest and charges.

Pernini was arraigned in Providence District Court on Wednesday and released on surety bail. He is due to return to court on Oct. 6 for a prearraignment disposition conference.
