Cranston Man Wins $35,000 after Lottery Dream

A Cranston Man bought a $35,000 winning lottery ticket at Cumberland Farms after he dreamed of winning the lottery the night before, the Rhode Island Lottery Commission said.

Winning the lottery is a dream come true for nearly everyone, and for one Cranston man this week, it literally was his previous night's dream coming true.

The Rhode Island Lottery today announced that a "young man" from Cranston cashed in a Royal Riches instant ticket he bought from the Cumberland Farms on Reservoir Avenue.

"He had a dream the night before that he walked into a store, asked for any instant ticket, and won," the lottery commission said. "He said that it felt too real, and just had to try his luck. He was shocked when he actually won."

The money will go to paying off debt. The man, who chose to remain anonymous, will give the rest to his son.

As luck would have it, the same Cumberland Farms sold a $10,000 winning PowerBall ticket on Wednesday. That prize has yet to be claimed.
