Cranston Man Indicted on Child Rape Charges

Police said Jose Morales molested a child under 14.

A 47-year-old Cranston man was indicted last week by the Providence County Grand Jury on charges of child rape and molestation.

Jose Morales, of 14 Knollwood Drive, Cranston, stands accused of molesting a child under 14 between Nov. 2012 and June 2014 and again between Jan. and Feb. of 2016.

He is also accused of raping a child in April of 2015.

Attorney General Peter F. Kilmartin announced that the grand jury reported out the indictment on Thursday and the alleged incidents occurred in Providence and Cranston.

Cranston police led the investigation and Morales is being held without bail.

He is due to be arraigned on July 22.
