Who says there are no manufacturing jobs in Rhode Island?

Yushin America, the North American headquarters of Japan’s Yushin Precision Equipment Co., is planning a 24,000 square foot expansion of its facility in Cranston.

The city’s Development Plan Review Committee will discuss the plans next week at 9 a.m. in City Hall.

The addition, which would come with improvements to parking, site circulation and landscaping, would increase the capacity of the facility by more than a third.

Yushin America is a manufacturer of robots for the injection molding industry, producing equipment that is used in factories to build anything from toys to car parts.

The company currently employs about 80 people at its Cranston facility and is likely to hire more in conjunction with the expansion plans.
