CRANSTON, RI — The Cranston Police Department will be celebrating National Night Out on August 6 at Garden City. The national event promotes a relationship between the police and the community safety.
For the second year in a row, the department is partnering with Garden City Center for the event, which will be held at the shopping center's gazebo from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
Every year, National Night Out is a time for communities to come together with local police departments to promote safety and wellness. Across the country, more than 37 million people in more than 16,000 communities are expected to take part. Nationally, the event is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch.
