Cranston Police Donate $500 To Down Syndrome Society Of Rhode Island
The donation came through the department, raising money by selling limited edition Cranston police patches.
CRANSTON, RI — The Cranston Police Department raised $500 for the Down Syndrome Society of RI, Inc., the department said on Facebook on Tuesday.
The money came from the department selling special police patches to advocate for people with down syndrome. The patches coincided with World Down Syndrome Day, which was on March 21. All proceeds went to the Down Syndrome Society of RI, Inc.
Patches can still be purchased on Cranston police's online store. There are also patches raising money for supporting Ukraine, LGBTQ nonprofits and more.
