Missing Cranston Girl, 10, Found: Police

CRANSTON, RI — A 10-year-old girl reported missing in Cranston was found on Wednesday afternoon, Cranston police said. Jania McDuffie, reported missing on Tuesday night, "appears to be in good health."

Police thanked the community for their role in finding the girl, saying the department "received an outpouring of support and offers of assistance along with countless calls from the community."

"Thank you again for your assistance and this teamwork led to an excellent outcome that we all hoped for, which was to find her safe and return her to her family," the department said in a statement. "She is currently being evaluated and appears to be in good health."

McDuffie was reported missing from the Pontiac Avenue area on Tuesday night. Foul play was not suspected, as she was believed to have run away from home.
