Cranston's Santoro Named to Patriots Cheerleading Squad
Heather Santoro of Cranston will be on the sidelines at New England Patriots games next season to root for the team. It's her fourth season as a Patriots cheerleader.
After a six-week audition process, the New England Patriots Cheerleaders have chosen their squad for the 2013 season and one hometown girl from Cranston has made the cut.
Heather Santoro was one of 57 candidates who were invited back for final auditions on March 16 and made the cut down to 36. She and the 35 other contestants just completed the annual boot camp portion of the audition on March 30, which consisted of four sessions.
After the completion of the final boot camp session, the squad chose the following 25 women from the field of 36 finalists to comprise the 2013 team along with Santoro.

Santoro currently resides in Cranston and she is pursuing a degree in Elementary Education at Rhode Island College.
Heather has had the opportunity to represent the Patriots avidly throughout the community, as well as on a national level, cheering for the Pats at Super Bowl XLVI and on the international level, at the Nike Festival of Sport in Shanghai, China. Heather hopes to one day make an impact on the lives of young children, by providing them with a solid education while helping them to discover their talents and special interests. This is Heather’s fourth year as a Patriots Cheerleader.

The team includes 12 rookies and 13 returning veteran cheerleaders. Squad rehearsals will begin immediately to prepare for the upcoming Junior Patriots Cheerleader clinics scheduled in May. All 25 cheerleaders will travel to St. Lucia in June to shoot the squad’s annual swimsuit calendar and behind the scenes video; “Sideline to Shoreline.”
