PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- A Cumberland man was convicted of child molestation charges in Providence Superior Court on Thursday.
Kunwar Chadha, 53, was found guilty of two counts of second-degree child molestation. Between October 31, 2011 and July 31, 2012, he molested a then-11-year-old victim, who reported the crime to Cumberland police in 2016.
“We are grateful for the jury’s verdict in this important case,” Attorney General Peter Neronha said . “Much credit goes to the victim for his bravery in coming forward and providing compelling testimony. Child sexual abuse has a traumatic effect on victims and our Office takes these cases seriously.”
