DCYF Reports 2 Cases Of 'Likely' Youth Mistreatment
Two youths were admitted to Hasbro Children's Hospital in the past weeks, the Department of Children, Youth and Families said.
PROVIDENCE, RI — The Rhode Island Department of Children, Youth and Families reported two unrelated cases of likely child mistreatment after a 17-year-old and a nine-month-old were recently admitted to Hasbro Children's Hospital.
The first incident was reported Friday. The baby, a boy from Bristol, was admitted to the hospital Oct. 23. The family did not have previous involvement with the department.
The department reported the second incident Monday. According to the department, the 17-year-old girl's family, who are from Lincoln, were known to DCYF.

As is law, the Office of the Child Advocate was notified of both reports.
