Dispose Of Old Pills On National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day
Looking for a safe way to get rid of old prescription medication? Police departments across the state will accept them on April 27.
On April 27, police departments and other organizations across the country will accept expired and unneeded medications for National Prescription Take-Back Day. Here in Rhode Island, police departments across the state are taking part in the program, which runs from 10 a..m until 2 p.m.
The initiative was launched by the federal Drug Enforcement Agency in 2010 as a way to safely dispose of expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs. Since then, the agency reported that nearly five tons of medications have been collected.
